Kimberly Duncan
Kimberly Duncan is a film photographer based in Santa Fe, New Mexico. She received a BFA from Colgate University in Studio Art and Environmental Science. Kimberly's journey into film photography stems from her drawing practice and a love of composition. She focuses on tightly cropped, minimal scenes that allow nondescript objects to be the driver of light, shadow, and form. Her favorite images capture a specific mood created by these otherwise inanimate objects. Often using her Hassleblad 500 C/M from the 1970's, she enjoys the element of surprise that film brings to her practice. Each exposure in a roll of film is precious and encourages a present, meditative approach to photography.
