Jo Hay
British-American portrait artist Jo Hay chooses subjects who channel empowerment.
Earning a MFA from The New York Academy, Hay is known for her use of vibrant brush strokes and bold subject matters regarding social justice. Her recent series “Persisters”’ depicts societal influencers including Greta Thunberg and Ruth Bader Ginsburg, outstanding women who have made an impression with their tenacious resolve to succeed in their pursuit of justice. Hay's rabbit series exploded in popularity in the late 2010s. As each body of work sold out she began offering archival prints of some of her favorite rabbits portraits to date.
Hay now resides in Provincetown, MA with her wife Carolyn. If you'd like to commission the artist to paint an original oil portrait, please contact the gallery with size and subject matter requests.
