Garden of Curiosities | A Spring Group Exhibit
Welcome to Garden of Curiosities - a playful exhibition where the gallery transforms into an imaginative garden filled with sculptural characters, unexpected objects, and delightful little surprises.
Featuring six contemporary female artists, the show blurs the line between the nostalgic and the otherworldly. Each piece invites you to lean in a little closer, revealing thoughtful craftsmanship, layered storytelling, and a sense of curiosity that runs throughout the entire exhibition.
Opening during Women’s History Month, Garden of Curiosities celebrates artists whose work reminds us that whimsy and depth can live beautifully side by side.

We are thrilled to feature the works of Michele Aschenbrenner, Susannah Carson, Steph Blondet, Maggie Stickney, CP Kate, and Melissa Callaway. Get to know the artists below and step into the "gallery garden". We invite you to wander, pause, and discover something new with every turn.
MEET THE ARTISTS

Miller Gallery represented artist, Michele Aschenbrenner debuts 8 new works that bring that special touch of nostalgia and magic that we all know and LOVE! Her More-is-More approach is something we can never get enough of.
Michele Aschenbrenner
Michele’s work is deeply inspired by vintage aesthetics, especially mid-century design, cheerful color palettes, and floral patterns. A collector of vintage paint-by-number art, this nostalgic influence is reflected in her clean, vibrant style. She paints primarily with gouache and acrylics, using a hard-edge technique built up in thin, smooth layers. Explore more of Michele's work here.
The Miller Gallery is thrilled to welcome the elegant works of guest artist Susannah Carson to the gallery! We simply cannot take our eyes off of her 10 new works from her Lover's Eyes series (pun intended!)
Susannah Carson
Susannah Carson works primarily in oils, incorporating antique gilt frames and antique china into her pieces, and draws extensively on her academic background in art, history, and literature to create timeless, romantic, intellectually thoughtful, and visually layered portraits of novelistic heroines and heroes. And of course her lover's eyes series!! Explore Susannah's available works here.
Miller Gallery represented artist, Steph Blondet debuts 6 iconic cupcakes that have a new, never-before-seen glitter finish that have us swooning!
Steph Blondet
Steph Blondet creates textured and sculptural paintings as a form of visual journaling, through which she processes memories and experiences from childhood into adulthood. In her work, Blondet explores themes of personal growth, grief, and the societal pressures placed on women. Explore more of Steph's work here!
Miller Gallery represented artist, Maggie Stickney debuts 7 new floral works that delve into color and capturing light in the most intentional way. We think these floral studies are dreamy as they are sublime!
Maggie Stickney
Maggie Stickney is drawn to non-traditional color relationships, deciphering the intricate connections and disconnections between highlight and shadow. Her work creates snapshots of the passing moments, either from life or photos, drawn to the ever-changing light, the relentless march of time, and the charming simplicity of her life as a mother. Explore more from Maggie here!
The Miller Gallery is thrilled to welcome the decadent works of guest artist Kate Rasmussen (CP KATE)! Kate is debuting 5 new sculptures all with a playful and confectionary twist that take you back in time.
CP Kate
Kate Rasmussen (CP KATE) is an accomplished sculptural collagist. Many of her pieces are characterized by food as fashion and she draws inspiration from both. Her sculptures depict visual contrast, objects that inspire wonder, curiosity, and spark conversation. Explore Kate's collection of works here!

The Miller Gallery is thrilled to welcome the delicate and vibrant works of guest artist and Charleston local, Melissa Callaway! The moment we saw her three-dimensional florals we knew her work was perfect for transporting collectors to another world.
Melissa Callaway
Melissa H. Callaway is a multidisciplinary artist based in Charleston, South Carolina. Working through textile processes such as dyeing, stitching, quilting, weaving, and knitting, her practice explores themes of memory, motherhood, heritage, and maternal mental health.
