Her work explores the idea of physical and spiritual rootedness through repeated imagery inspired by nature, vintage textiles and historical folk art.

After discovering abstract painting as a form of therapeutic movement in her early days of motherhood, Meredith’s process has evolved into a somewhat meditative practice. While her visual style evokes the familiarity of folk and decorative arts, Meredith maintains a ‘process over product’ approach in the creation of her work; Her primary interest remaining in the act of play and letting the work lead her to its final form. She works out her designs in layers of color and a variety of mediums including fluid acrylics, gouache and added textures, sometimes including natural elements such as soil and rainwater to lay the foundation of her larger paintings.

Meredith received a BFA in Graphic Design from the University of South Carolina in 2013 and began painting in 2019 as a way to cope with postpartum depression.
