He eventually settled in South Carolina, where the close-knit life on Sullivan’s Island suited him well. Drawing on his creativity and drive, he built a successful design and sign fabrication company.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eThen, just as life seemed settled, Dave faced a challenge many fear: a potential cancer diagnosis. The experience led him to reevaluate his priorities and embrace a more intentional way of living, focused on making the most of every moment.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eAt 54, Dave sold his business and began searching for a deeper sense of purpose. Painting became both therapy and passion. Raised in a creative family—his mother was an accomplished oil, pencil, and pastel artist—he developed a strong artistic eye over time. He refined it through his work creating signage for local and national brands, where he learned lessons in construction, design balance, and the power of color.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp class=\"p1\"\u003eNow working independently, Dave paints to express balance, love, passion, and gratitude for life. His art draws inspiration from the Lowcountry, his travels, and the natural world.
